Tune in to Euronews' new daily live programme “Europe Today” at 8 am Brussels time. In just 15 minutes, we get you up to speed on everything happening across the continent.

Ukraine's future is at stake this week in Brussels, after Moscow rejected a counterproposal to the US peace plan in Ukraine drafted by European countries.

Putin's aide Yuri Ushakov described the plan as "unconstructive" and said Moscow would not accept it. However, there is a feeling of cautious optimism in Brussels regarding the new 19-point peace plan for Ukraine.

Another major topic this week in Brussels is EU-US trade negotiations.

US officials and EU ministers met yesterday in Brussels for frank discussions about the two sides' fraught trade deal.

To comment on these topics, we are joined from Copenhagen by Margrethe Vestager, former European Commissioner for Competition, known for the landmark EU digital rules, including the Digital Services Act and the Digital Markets Act.

Is it the end of the "Brussels effect"? Watch Europe Today to find out.
