Eco-friendly boating‎ is gaining more and more ground, but there is still a lot more progress needed, says the show manager of the Cannes Yachting Festival Sylvie Ernoult.

The 41st Yachting Festival opened its gates this week on the French Riviera. Two ports harbour 638 boats, altogether enough to form a 10-kilometre long line. Traditionally, many of the latest developments make a debut in Cannes, as this is the season-opening event in the industry. This year mainly boats using the foiling technology and solar-powered models represented the eco-friendly attempts.
