Polish football fans unveiled a gigantic and provocative banner to mark a key date for the country in World War II.

Supporters of Legia Warsaw unfurled the sign to mark the 73rd anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising.
The revolt, which began on August 1, 1944, saw Polish resistance forces attempt to drive the Nazi army out of the city, as Soviet troops approached from the east.
Two months later, however, they surrendered saying sources of food, ammunition and outside help had dried up.
The banner, unfuled on Tuesday night (August 2), showed a Nazi soldier holding a gun to the head of crying child, with the caption: “During the Warsaw Uprising Germans killed 160,000 people. Thousands of them were children.”
It was revealed before Legia Warsaw’s Champions League qualifying match with Kazakh side Astana, who they beat 1-0 on the night, but lost over the two legs.
