US President Donald Trump has hit out at China for not doing more to reign in North Korea's Kim Jong Un and his missile programme.

US President Donald Trump has hit out at China for not doing more to reign in North Korea’s Kim Jong Un and his missile programme.

The North Korean leader personally supervised the midnight launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile on Friday. He said it was a
“stern warning” for the United States that it would not be safe from destruction if it tries to attack.

The US President took to Twitter to express frustration with Beijing’s response.

He wrote I am very disappointed in China, they do NOTHING for us with North Korea, … We will no longer allow this to continue’.

I am very disappointed in China. Our foolish past leaders have allowed them to make hundreds of billions of dollars a year in trade, yet…

…they do NOTHING for us with North Korea, just talk. We will no longer allow this to continue. China could easily solve this problem!

China, the North’s main ally, said it opposed North Korea’s missile launches which it said violate United Nations Security Council resolutions designed to curb Pyongyang’s banned nuclear
and missile programmes.

China’s armed forces, the world’s largest, are in the midst of an ambitious modernisation programme,

China has not fought a war in decades and the government says it simply needs the ability to properly defend what is now the world’s second-largest
economy.
