The incident occurred when a car ploughed into several customers on a bar terrace in the Malaga town. Police are investigating whether the driver suffered a health problem at the wheel.

Seven people were injured on Monday when they were run over by a car on the terrace of a bar in Frigiliana (Málaga), according to the Andalusian 112 emergency service. Local media report that among the injured were at least two children, aged 5 and 14.

The alert came in at 19:30, when several witnesses phoned 112 to report that a car had ploughed into several customers sitting on the bar’s terrace. The coordination centre dispatched staff from the Emergency Health Centre, the local police and the fire brigade, who ultimately did not have to intervene.

Although medical staff initially spoke of three injured people, the number later rose to seven: in addition to the two children, three women aged 45, 48 and 79, and two men aged 44 and 77. Investigators are now trying to determine whether the woman driving the car suffered some kind of medical problem while at the wheel.
