What future for Cyprus? Euronews reporter Hans von der Brelie spoke to Cypriot citizens from both parts of the divided island. In Limassol, a city in the south, Greek Cypriot Elena Georgiou outlines her viewpoint: “A federation would be a perfect solution”. Elena fled the city of Morphou in 1974, when she was a child. Her wish for a political settlement of the “Cyprus problem” includes some “red lines”: There should be “no Turkish soldiers, none, zero”. On the other hand she is ready to accept the idea of a rotating presidency: “For me it is not important if the president is called Nikos or Mustafa, Yannis or Ahmed.”
