Super Typhoon Fung-wong has triggered mass evacuations across the Philippines as powerful winds and torrential rains threaten millions following the devastation of Typhoon Kalmaegi.

Super Typhoon Fung-wong, with winds reaching 185 km/h and gusts up to 230 km/h, has forced the evacuation of nearly one million people across the Philippines.

The massive storm, spanning 1,600 kilometers, threatens to bring life-threatening floods and storm surges as it nears landfall.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. declared a state of emergency after Typhoon Kalmaegi left more than 224 people dead earlier in the week.

Authorities warn up to 30 million people could be affected by Fung-wong’s destructive path.
