A French nursery school teacher who was stabbed early on Monday morning in his school near Paris, and who claimed his assailant said the attack was a warning from ISIL, has retracted his statement.

It seems he was attacked by a man with a box cutter before classes began, but for unrevealed reasons. He was slashed in the neck, and the attacker is still on the loose.

Initially police, who are tense during the current French state of emergency, thought they were investigating a terror attack, especially as last month ISIL publically condemned the French education system, and its music and drawing classes, calling on its supporters to kill teachers. No reason has been given for the teacher’s false statement.
