Peaceful demonstrations were staged in several American cities in protest at the savage beating of a black motorist who died in hospital three days after being stopped by police in Memphis, Tennessee.
Video recordings of the incident showed several officers beating Tyre Nichols, 29, for three minutes and then failing to give him any medical assistance.
Five police officers have been fired from their jobs and charged with murder. All five officers are black, as was Mr Nichols.
