We are looking for an international sales manager for several countries, directly attached to the Frankfurt office.

Main activities:

You will have to prospect the advertising market (advertisers, media agencies) in order to increase our advertising sales turnover. You possess a 3-5 year commercial background in advertising, media or hi-tech industries. An experience in selling advertising space or services in an international environment will be a plus, with emphasis on television and/or online.

Qualities required :

Dynamic, enthusiastic and self motivated, familiar with international business relations and a good internet knowledge and practice, you have a strong commercial potential and a capacity to work with a large autonomy.
Fluency in English is very important. Frequent traveling, abroad and within Germany, will be a requirement of the job.

Head of Bureau, Brussels Ref: CB/Brux

General Responsibilities

He/she:

  • ensures editorial line of the bureau as defined by Editorial Director
  • manages the bureau in its aspects: editorial, HR, managerial, technical, relations with headquarters, reporting
  • represents euronews in Brussels and develops a network of contacts with EU decision makers and other media
  • liaises with the various stakeholders of the site, euronews employees and third parties

MAIN DUTIES

EDITORIAL

He/she:

  • is responsible for the full editorial coverage of EU affairs in Brussels and in Europe, under the responsibility of Chief Editors of euronews in Lyon and Duty Editor in charge of Web for the Brussels bureau
  • organises daily and long-term editorial coverage in cooperation with Duty Head of the Bureau
  • coordinates editorial coverage together with heads of newsroom at euronews in Lyon
  • develops a process of quick response to an appropriate coverage of breaking news
  • organises the coverage and the production of programmes from the bureau

MANAGEMENT OF THE OFFICE – HUMAN RESOURCES

He/she:

  • oversees recruitment of new employees and freelance staff
  • helps integrate new members into the Brussels team
  • manages journalists' roster (administers holiday leaves and deals with staff absences), in liaison with the HR department
  • evaluates the training needs of the bureau
  • maintains discipline at the bureau
  • validates payroll of bureau staff

MANAGEMENT OF THE OFFICE - OTHER OPERATIONAL ASPECTS

He/she:

  • responsible for following administrative procedures involved in daily activities
  • participates in budget calculation and oversees and accounts use of funds
  • is responsible for safety and working conditions in the office

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

The Web Bilingual Journalist offers, writes and publishes original content for the website, across all areas of output; news, magazines, business, features, etc…, respecting the editorial guidelines of euronews. He/she is hierarchically under the Deputy Editor of new media.

You will be responsible for:

  • The proposal of original topics for the website
  • The organization of documentary research on various media
  • (wires - newspapers - internet ...)
  • The production and writing of multimedia articles and features and promoting them on the web.
  • Participation in live programmes related to daily news as well as those organized within the framework of special events on the site and social networks.
  • The monitoring of international news to offer unusual angles for stories

Having studied journalism, you have knowledge of the characteristics of web writing and web tools online. You are fluent in English and Ukrainian, while another European language would be an additional asset. You must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in journalism. euronews is currently recruiting his/her:

Director of the Worldwide Distribution

General Responsibilities

The Director of the Distribution Service (H/F) is hierarchically attached to the President or the Managing Director. He (she) is member of the Executive Committee.
The post holder will have as their main mission the development of the worldwide of distribution of euronews in a range of time slots on satellite, cable, and Hertzian, and overall development of new and future media (Internet, ADSL, cellular phones).
They will also take part in the development of the budget of the Distribution department and will assure the correct use of its funds.

Main missions

  • The management of a team of assistants of distribution
  • The setting up of actions allowing the development of euronews’ distribution.
  • Technological survey and monitoring of cable and satellite market evolutions.

The post holder must have a perfect knowledge of all aspects of the channel and be able to represent it and negotiate in an optimum way. They will make proposals to executive management in the choice of actions to be implemented to extend the distribution of euronews worldwide.

Management of the distribution team :

  • The team is composed of assistants with responsibility for world zones
  • Organization and planning of work
  • Definition of distribution policy
  • Control of the actions carried out
  • Exchanging rising and downward informations.

Preservation and development of the distribtution of euronews

  • Launching and development of Marketing strategy.
  • Setting up of mailing campaigns

  • Negotiation with cable and satellite operators to sell transmission space and increase distribution
  • Follow-up of commercial actions

Main Qualifications

Work experience/ Education

  • Perfect knowledge of the editorial and legal features of the channel to represent and negotiate the distribution contracts in an optimum way.

DUBAI CORRESPONDENT

General Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Editors in Chief and under the supervision of the Head of the Farsi Service, euronews’ correspondent in Dubai regularly proposes news and feature topics for News and Programmes units in Lyon, produces stories and contributes news and other material for euronews’ website.

Main Duties

  • Covering daily and occasional regional and local news both as television and as web stories, in Persian and occasionally in English.
  • Propose ideas for news and feature stories, interviews, both for the TV output and for the web.
  • Establishing an efficient network of news contacts locally and regionally to enable solid news and other types of coverage

Main Qualifications

  • Higher education in journalism or an equivalent of experience in the field, you need to have a strong experience in audiovisual sector.
  • An excellent general knowledge and in-depth awareness of international politics, sport, economics and cultural issues, as well as European affairs.
  • An excellent working knowledge of Persian and English, knowledge of the Arabic language would be an additional asset.
