A new landmark in Abu Dhabi is opening its doors, telling the story of the UAE through the legacy of its founding father.
The Zayed National Museum has opened in Abu Dhabi, offering a journey through 3,000 years of UAE history. Inspired by a falcon’s wings and designed by architect Norman Foster, the museum anchors the Saadiyat Cultural District alongside the Louvre Abu Dhabi and the future Guggenheim.
Visitors begin outdoors at Almasar Gardens, a 600-metre gallery tracing Sheikh Zayed’s life and key national milestones. Inside, more than 1,500 artefacts across six galleries explore the heritage of the seven emirates, from archaeological finds to the tiny but significant Abu Dhabi Pearl.
The museum aims to welcome millions as a new cultural hub.
