VW sales slow again

VW cars recorded another month of falls in sales in March, the 16th out of the last 18 months for Europe’s number one motor manufacturer.

Losing only 2.7% doesn’t sound too bad compared to nearly 5% in February, but against rivals picking up nearly 6% in sales market share is under pressure.

The company is still struggling to dispel the bad smell from the diesel scandal, and has botched a German vehicle recall.

However growth remained solid in VW’s biggest market, China.

A deadline for VW and U.S. regulators to agree a solution for manipulated U.S. cars expires next week.
