Parliament President Martin Schulz told the assembly that dignity and respect are the best reponse.

Poland’s interior minister has accused Martin Schulz of what he called “German arrogance.”

Mariusz Blaszczak made the comments after the European Parliament president told German TV that a refusal to accept refugees arriving from the Middle East showed a lack of European “solidarity”.

Warsaw said last Saturday that it would demand security guarantees before accepting its EU quota of refugees.
