At least one person was killed and several others injured in the blaze in the Bekaa Valley
ADVERTISEMENTAt least one person was killed on Sunday as fire ripped through a camp for Syrian refugees in eastern Lebanon.
The victim was a child some media reports say.
A number of other people were injured, including two who are in a critical condition, according to the UN refugees’ organisation.
Flames and thick clouds of black smoke rose from the site near the town of Qab Elias in the Bekaa Valley.

The cause is unclear with a cooking accident or a power surge among the theories being investigated.
Little was left by the fire with around 100 tents destroyed.
Lebanon hosts at least 1 million registered Syrian refugees, although many more are thought to be there.
One source said a large number of those at the destroyed camp had fled from the region around ISIL’s de facto capital of Raqqa.
