Brazil's top prosecutor requests probe into Dilma Rousseff's role in Petrobras scandal

Brazil’s leading prosecuter, Rodrigo Janot, has requested the Supreme Court open an investigation into President Dilma Rousseff as part of a massive probe into corruption at the state-run oil firm Petrobras.


The country’s former president,Lula da Silva is also in Janot’s sights, he accused Lula of playing a vital role in the scandal.
Last month the lower house of Congress voted to impeach Rousseff on unrelated charges of breaking budgetary laws.
This latest accusation of obstructing the course of justice will only add to the troubles surrounding the president.
The Senate will decide on whether to open a trial if they agree Rousseff will be suspended from office.
