Germany’s Severin Freund clinched a large hill event in Russia on Saturday to extend his overall ski jump World Cup lead.
The 27-year-old jumped 132 metres on his first attempt before clearing 134 for a total of 260 points, en route to a second win this season.
This result sees Freund top the season standings on 305 points, 41 ahead of Peter Prevc who had to settle for second place, 11.5 points adrift.
Joachim Hauer of Norway completed the podium on 243.7 while Daniela Iraschko-Stoltz of Austria beat Japanese star Sara Takanashi for her first win of the season in the women’s normal hill event.
