Football: Fenerbahçe team bus attacked following 5-1 win

A bus carrying Turkish football team Fenerbahçe was attacked following an away game against Rizespor, according to local television reports.

The away side won the match 5-1.

None of the Istanbul team’s players were hurt, but the driver of the coach is said to have been taken to hospital.

Some reports suggest shots were fired at the vehicle, others claim stones were thrown by rival fans.

The attack happened in the Arakli district of Trabzon, a Black Sea Province. Following the incident, an armoured vehicle escorted the team to the airport.
