Sex and the city star Kim Cattrall has confirmed on Sunday that her brother, who had been missing since Tuesday, had died.

The actress called upon her Instagram followers earlier this morning to help her locate Christopher Cattrall.

He had not been seen or heard of since January 30.

“He’s a one of a kind brother. Help us bring him home safe. Please spread the world. Many thanks for reading this,” Cattrall, 61, wrote on Instagram.

Canadian Police were alerted to the 55-year-old's disappearance after he had left his house in Lacombe, Alberta, unlocked without taking his keys, wallet and phone with him. His seven dogs were also left unattended.

Alberta police also shared an image of Christopher on Twitter in an appeal for more information on his whereabouts.

Christopher is one of the actress’s three siblings and her only brother.

It is not known how he died or where he was found.

English-Canadian actress Kim Cattrall is best known for playing Samantha Jones in US romantic comedy series Sex and The City, for which she won a Golden Globe award in 2002 for Best Supporting Actress.
