An Italian Air Force Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft crashed into the sea off Terracina, Italy, on Sunday (September 24) killing the plane’s pilot, reports said.

The accident, which took place at an airshow over a Terracina beach on Itlay’s west coast, occurred as the aircraft’s pilot attempted to pull out of a high-altitude loop.

Also scheduled to appear at the show was a display from the famed Italian Air Force Frecce Tricolori aerobatic team, according to reports.

It was intended to demonstrate Italian military forces, according to reports.
