Greenpeace leaks secret TTIP documents as US-EU trade talks spark protest

Greenpeace has released leaked secret TTIP negotiation documents that show the US is applying pressure on the EU to weaken European protection laws on the environment and public health.

The as yet to be concluded Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership is an attempt to create the world’s biggest free trade zone between the US and European Union.
Greenpeace projected the leaks on the Bundestag to make public the content of the talks, which are being conducted in secret.
The NGO says that 800 million people will affected by the TTIP deal and claims “TTIP is about a huge transfer of power from people to big business.”
Both Brussels and Washington believe TTIP will provided and major boost to both economies.
But opposition is growing with millions signing an on-line petition as street protests gather momentum.
