An investigation is under way after three people were killed when a driver sped into crowds in a busy shopping district of Graz in Austria.

Among the victims were a four-year-old boy and a man who had been married for just two weeks.

A further 34 were injured.

The driver who has been arrested is thought has been mentally disturbed following the breakdown of his marriage.

Police commander Josef Klamminger told reporters that the man had been under a restraining order keeping him from the home of his wife and two children since a domestic violence report against him was filed last month.
