Flash floods in the south of France have left one woman dead and three other people missing.

French meteorological authorities issued an orange alert for 13 regions due to the risk of high winds accompanying the heavy rains which are expected to continue until Saturday.

The Var region alone has had 20 weather warnings since September 1.
