Ukrainian feminist organisation FEMEN staged a protest on Monday against the forthcoming visit of Pope Francis to Strasbourg, France.

The pontiff will be in the city to speak at the European Parliament.

One of their activists stripped off inside Strasbourg’s cathedral to show slogans such as ‘the pope is not a politician’.

The unnamed woman told euronews that the parliament “is no the place for the pope.”

No arrests were made.

FEMEN previously protested outside the Vatican against what they denounced as interference by the Catholic Church into political life.
