The hit HBO show has sparked a rise in demand for getaways to Ontario, and you can book a trip to the actual filming location on Lake Muskoka through Airbnb.
“Will you come to my cottage this summer?” is the question that launched a thousand edits among fans of HBO’s Heated Rivalry this winter.

And now you might just find yourself asking someone the same question as the setting for the hit TV show’s season one finale is about to be listed on Airbnb.
The short-term let platform will be offering four early access bookings for the Barlochan cottage on the shores of Lake Muskoka in Ontario, Canada, for stays over the weekends of 8-10, 16-18, 22-24 and 29-31 May. The cottage will also be opening to regular bookings in the near future, although the date for that is yet to be confirmed.
Each of the weekend stays are priced at CAD$248.10 (€155) per night – a nod to Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov’s jersey numbers (24 and 81 respectively) in the show.

Heated Rivalry: HBO’s runaway success
Released across the US and Canada late last year, Heated Rivalry quickly became one of the most talked about TV shows around.
Based on the second book in Rachel Reid’s Game Changers novel series, the show follows two hockey players on rival teams as they battle to keep their romance a secret.
We won’t spoil what happens, but the final episode of the first season, The Cottage, sparked a spike in searches for stays in Muskoka, with Airbnb seeing a 40% increase compared to before the episode aired.
Guests who manage to secure a stay at Barlochan cottage can expect a private dock with direct access to the lake, a home gym, and incredible views throughout. Like Shane says in the show, it’s totally private, but should you need to leave you’re just a short drive from the town of Gravenhurst.
While the reaction to the show in Europe has been more muted – it was only released in many countries on the continent this month – its stars Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie served as official torchbearers at the Winter Olympics in Milan.
