A Housing First EU initiative in Brno is helping people move off the streets and rebuild their lives through secure housing and social support.
Miroslav, 59, spent more than a decade on the streets before receiving an apartment and support from social workers, easing daily worries and restoring stability. He is one of 20 households benefiting from the project, which ran from 2023 to 2025 and was largely funded by the European Social Fund+.
The scheme pairs affordable housing with guidance on health, employment and rebuilding family ties. Local workers say stable accommodation is crucial for recovery, offering people safety, dignity and the chance to move forward.
