But one London football team has been trying to promote tolerance.

TUFF FC hails from West-London and works on anti-radicalisation in the British capital.

Project Foot is a similar team based in the now infamous neighbourhood.

The two sides played each other earlier this week.

One coach from Molenbeek said ISIS recruiters had targeted him.

“They asked me to go to Syria. They offered me money. They suggested that I kill people in the name of God. But I know that’s not true. So I spoke to the imams here in Molenbeek and, of course, it’s false,” said Azzedine Benfama of Project Foot.

Syed Kamall, a British MEP and a practising Muslim, said local communities will taking the lead in fighting extremists.

“These are not politicians from the European Parliament or Westminster or the Belgian Federal Parliament, these are communities themselves finding solutions for problems locally,” he told euronews.

And the result was evenly split.

Project Foot’s men won their game, while the ladies from TUFF TC took victory.
