We have interviewed one of the leading Polish experts in constitutional law, Marek Chmaj. It took place in his Warsaw-based law office, where he just finalised the report for the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe. There is an ongoing investigation to see if Poland’s right-wingers – including the Polish president Duda – are violating the democratic system of checks and balances.
