Concern in Brussels over "disconnect"

The European Commission has launched a series of public meetings across the EU as part of a plan to try to get closer to the people, to encourage citizens to engage more on European issues, so they can help shape the future of the bloc. But is the right action being taken? And is there any cause for optimism on the issue, given the massive challenge Brussels admits it is facing to get people to feel more European and make full use of their rights. The Vice President of the commission, Viviane Reding, is one of those hosting the public debates. She answered questions from Euronews reporter Seamus Kearney at a recent meeting held in Dublin.
