‘Dalí, The Classical Dream’ presents a selection of 150 works by the Spanish surrealist artist with the aim of showing how he was inspired by great Italian masters like Raphael and Michelangelo. The exhibition runs at the Fondazione Palazzo Blu in Pisa until February 5, 2017.

French icon Catherine Deneuve is being honoured at the Lumiere Festival in the French city of Lyon. A unique kind of film fest dedicated to movie classics, it’s a chance to pay homage to the history of cinema. Guests at this year’s edition include Quentin Tarentino, Park Chan-Wook and Vincent Lindon. Runs October 8-16.

Built on an abandoned Soviet airfield, Estonia’s National Museum has finally opened near its second city, Tartu. The largest project ever undertaken by Estonia, the museum is dedicated to the history, life and traditions of Estonians and other Finno-Ugric people.

And Frankfurt’s Städel Museum is showing 70 paintings and works on paper from German artist Georg Baselitz’s famed ‘Heroes’ series. With his bedraggled, broken figures, Baselitz influenced a whole generation of post-war German artists grappling with issues of national identity. Runs until October 23.
