In this episode of Energy Frontiers, we examine Azerbaijan’s most advanced power facility to date—the 8 November Power Plant. Located in Mingachevir, the country’s energy hub, the high-efficiency, combined-cycle gas plant is set to generate 1,880 megawatts of electricity while reducing emissions by 50%.

As COP29 host, Azerbaijan is embracing natural gas as a transition fuel while laying the groundwork for a low-carbon future, he says.
