The demise of the iconic store leaves tens of thousands of US staff facing unemployment

It is game over for Toys'R'Us in the United States.
The iconic retailer will close or sell all of its 735 stores coast to coast - putting thousands of jobs at risk.
In a statement, the firm said it was trying to sell its operations in Canada and, internationally, in Asia and Central Europe.
And the future looks uncertain for the business in other countries including Australia, France and Spain.
Toys'R'Us have nearly 1,600 shops worldwide and 65,000 employees - 33,000 of them stateside where the New Jersey-based firm filed for bankruptcy last September.
Now facing unemployment, its US employees won't be encouraged by events over the Pond. All of the chain's UK stores will close in the weeks ahead, with the loss of more than 3,000 jobs.
The demise of Toys'R'Us comes as online retail continues to grow.
And when it comes to what keeps boys and girls amused in 2018, instead of board games, dolls and cars - think smartphones, tablets and games consoles.
