Euronews' Emmanuelle Saliba is meeting student protesters in Paris as the movement gains momentum to hear their stories and find out more about why they are taking to the streets.

Students in France are taking to the streets, having been galvanised by the 'gilets jaunes' anti-government demonstrations.

High school and university students marched in Paris on Friday to voice frustration of their nation's education system.

Euronews' Emanuelle Saliba is at the protests in Paris to find out more about the demonstrators, hear their stories and find out why they are taking to the streets in defiance of the French government.

Speaking to Euronews, one student at the Parisian protest cited the 'Parcoursup' system, which is a set of final examinations students take at the end of their second-level education, as his reason for taking to the streets.

Many students feel too much rests on the examinations, which determine which university and course they can attend.
