A key event is being held in Morocco to promote music from Africa and the Middle East.

The city of Rabat is hosting “Visa For Music”, four days of concerts, training and meetings among musicians and professionals.

Brahim El Mazned, the Director & Founder of Visa For Music, told Euronews: “It’s important that the cultural and artistic communities can make the most of opportunities for media exposure, the launching of projects and getting financing.

“Because artists are also witnesses of our times, and this expression shouldn’t only be through digital means, it should also be experienced live.”

Close to Europe, Morocco is the perfect location for this kind of fair, where musicians can reach an international platform.

Many of those attending would not be able to afford the other big established music fairs and organising travel is difficult.

Euronews correspondent Wolfgang Spindler reported: “Visa For Music has become an important professional platform in the music industry where musicians from Africa and the Middle East can boost their business.”
