She has her own TV show and is a child of the privileged Russian elite, her father a mentor of Vladimir Putin during their time in St Petersburg. Now Ksenia Sobchak wants to replace Putin in the Kremlin in the March 2018 elections.
“Many suggest boycotting these elections. Effectively, it’s easier not to go anywhere. Why even go to vote if we are fed up with the candidates that are on the ballot, and the real ones are barred?” she says in her first campaign video. “But if you don’t go vote, how will you show that you care? How do you show you’re against these present candidates? How do you make your voice heard?

The celebrity even has her own fanpage on Twitter. In this post followers admire her taste in clothes
Instead of voting “none of the above” Sobchak wants your vote in the presidential polls. However some are accusing her of being a Kremlin stooge, and running only to weaken the leader of Russia’s opposition, Alexei Navalny.
“I am part of a whole new generation,” she insists, “that wants to see a different Russia, that is civilised and European.”
The Instagram generation, it seems, where Sobchak is far more active than on Twitter. Her posts reveal the depth of her political commitment
But who knows? Maybe she’s a bit of a riot girl, deep inside…
