Gev Teddy Sella claimed his second win of this year’s Africa Eco Race after winning stage three which took the competitors from Tagounite to Assa in Southern Morocco.
The South African KTM rider completed the 433 km special stage in just over four hours and 54 minutes.
With the win Sella regained control of the overall standings and is now hold a healthy 51 lead over Italian Paolo Ceci who was fourth on the day
He was 21 minutes clear of defending bikes champion Pal Anders Ullevalseter from Norway.
Ullevalster remains in third place overall at one minute and seven seconds.
Russian Vladimir Vasilyev strengthened his grip on the car race as he celebrated his third win from the opening three stages.
The Mini driver’s latest triumph in the ninth edition of the race extended his lead in the general car standings to 28 minutes and 41 seconds over French Ford driver Thierry Magnaldi, who was second over Wednesday’s test.
Magnaldi regained second place overall after crossing the line a mere three minutes and 16 seconds behind Vasilyev.
Russia’s Andrey Karginov, like his compatriot Vasilyev, maintained his 100 per cent win rate in this year’s trucks category.
The Kamaz driver crossed over the line almost 20 minutes clear of fellow countryman and Kamaz teammate Sergey Kuprianov.
Overall, Karginov holds a one hour and 11 minute advantage over second placed Czech Tatra driver Jaroslav Valtr.
