Images posted on social media on 3 August 2026 show the moment a drone hit a beach near the Russian Black Sea resort town of Gelendzhik on Sunday. Krasnodar Krai regional governor Veniamin Kondratyev said six people were killed, including three children, and 40 more were injured, blaming Ukraine for the attack.

Ukraine's military has not commented on the incident. Some reports suggest the drone may have been aimed at the Russian naval base in Novorossiysk, roughly 40 kilometres away.
