Tens of thousands of protesters gather in Seoul

Tens of thousands of protesters have gathered in Seoul for the sixth week in a row to call for the resignation of President Park Geun-hye.

This latest demonstration of public fury comes hours after opposition parties filed an impeachment motion that will be put to a vote in parliament.

The 64-year-old is alleged to have assisted a close confidante, Choi Soon-sil, extort corporate and manipulate state affairs.

Choi Soon-sil is facing trial for fraud.
