Israel has jailed a 14-year-old Palestinian for 12 years for the 2015 stabbing of two people in a settlement north of Jerusalem.
An Israeli court has jailed a 14-year-old Palestinian for 12 years for a stabbing attack in a settlement north of Jerusalem that left two Jews injured, and his 15-year-old cousin dead after he was shot by a Jewish bystander.

The attack in October of last year was one of the first stabbings in a wave of similar attacks that sent a wave of alarm through Israel. In the past year 35 Israelis and two visiting Americans have been killed in similar attacks.
“Everyone spoke about a boy who is not and will not be dangerous at all, and still the court obliged the prosecution and sentenced him in full, adding an unthinkable and impossible fine. The feeling that Palestinians can seek justice in Israeli courts might have been laid to rest, I hope not,” said the boy’s lawyer Leah Tsemel.
“The court has ruled that the acts of the accused could have easily resulted in the taking of someone’s life. There is no escaping from delivering long sentences against those taking part in terror attacks against innocents, whoever they might be,” said prosecutor Yuval Kedar.
The attack left a 12-year-old boy who was riding his bicycle seriously wounded, while an adult was slightly injured.
In the same period 154 assailants have been killed by Israeli security forces who, say the Palestinians, have used excessive force in many cases. Israel is investigating several of the incidents.
