Rugby World champions New Zealand became the first top tier nation to win 18 consecutive matches following a 37-10 victory over arch rivals Australia.

Last year the All Blacks became the first country to win back-to-back World Cup titles and this latest milestone bolsters their claim to being the greatest ever rugby team.

Steve Hansen’s men ran in six tries against the Wallabies at Eden Park in Auckland for a 3-0 series whitewash to win the Bledisloe Cup for a 14th straight year.

New Zealand beat the top tier record of 17 straight Test wins set by themselves between 1965 and ’69.

Cyprus hold the overall record of 24 consecutive wins – a streak that was snapped in 2014.
