“Everybody in the world knows the team. This is a great club that is used to winning titles, and that’s why I came here. Obviously, young and old football fans, know Juventus and this is one of my motivations – the mentality, the project at the club… and there is nothing to add. So I am very happy to be here.”

The former Real Madrid player, Higuain won the Capocannoniere – Serie A’s golden boot – last season after scoring a league record-equalling 36 goals as Napoli finished in second spot to the champions Juventus.

The move is not without rancour Napoli coach Maurizio Sarri says he is disappointed with Gonzalo Higuain for not contacting him to say goodbye after such a successful working relationship.
