Tax inspectors raid Google's Spanish offices

Spanish tax inspectors have raided Google’s offices in Madrid as part of an ongoing investigation into possible tax evasion.

The authorities began probing the internet giant’s affairs five years ago when its Spanish affiliate was paying virtually no tax.

Spain suspects Google could be evading tax by channelling some income through Ireland.

Google insists it’s cooperating with the inquiry.
