America’s Jack Sock held his nerve to edge out fellow countryman John Isner in the semi-finals of the US Clay Court Championships in Houston.
The defending champion, who had lost four of their previous six meetings, needed a tie-break to clinch the first set before finding his range in the second.
Sock eventually prevailed 7-6 6-3 and will next lock horns with Juan Monaco in the showpiece match.
