FIFA President Sepp Blatter is facing a 90-day suspension from football’s governing body if the body’s ethics committee implements a provisional recommendation made on Monday.
The group met this week after the Swiss attorney general opened criminal proceedings against Blatter last month.
He is accused of signing a contract “unfavourable” to football’s governing body and making a “disloyal payment” to UEFA President Michel Platini.
A final decision is likely to be made on Thursday.
