A ‘ghost airport’ in Spain that cost 1 billion euros to build has attracted a meagre bid of just 10,000 euros at auction.

Ciudad Real’s La Mancha airport opened in 2008 only to go bankrupt and close by 2012.

A group of Chinese investors made the only bid, but another buyer could still trump the offer outside of the auction process.
