Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has inaugurated a mosque on the grounds of his gigantic palace complex in Ankara. It is open to the public however in an apparent move to ward off more criticism over his spending.

The “Bestepe People’s Mosque” can accomodate 3,000 worshippers and is one of the city’s largest.
