A Polish court has delayed making a decision over whether to extradite filmmaker Roman Polanski to the US over a 1977 child sex crime conviction.

A district court judge in the city of Krakow said the American authorities would be asked for more documents relating to their request.

A Swiss court, which decided not to extradite Polanski to the US in a similar case in 2010, will also be asked for access to documents from that case.

Another hearing is scheduled to be held in Poland on 22 May.
