At least 18 killed in Cairo building collapse

An eight-floor residential building has collapsed in Cairo, killing at least 18 people. Rescuers spent the night sifting through the rubble in a densely populated area northeast of the Egyptian capital.

Authorities say the collapse was probably caused by an illegal extension built on top of the building.
