A car exploded near a Hezbollah checkpoint in eastern Lebanon.

According to Lebanon’s Daily Star newspaper an “explosives-laden BMW” rammed into two vans carrying Hezbollah members near Sbouba, which lies northwest of the town of Baalbek.

News agency AFP reported that it is “not immediately clear” whether or not the driver was a suicide bomber.
