Real Madrid have set up a repeat of the 2014 Champions League final with city rivals Atletico Madrid after seeing off the challenge of Manchester City in the semi-finals.
After last week’s first leg at the Etihad ended goalless Zinedine Zidane’s Real booked their ticket to a 14th European Cup final courtesy of a 1-0 win over the Citizens in the decisive second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The only goal of the encounter came in the 20th minute when Fernandinho deflected into the top right corner of his own goal following a Gareth Bale cross.
Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid will now meet each other in the final for a second time in three seasons on May 28 at the San Siro in Italy.
