Clashes erupted in Buenos Aires as protesters opposing President Milei’s economic policies, including pension reforms, confronted police, who responded with tear gas and imposed restrictions on stadium access for those involved.

Pensioners and football fans clashed with police in front of Argentina’s Congress on Wednesday during a protest against President Javier Milei’s economic policies.

What started as a peaceful demonstration turned violent as protesters threw stones at authorities, who responded with water cannons, tear gas, and pellets.

The protests, held weekly by pensioners in Buenos Aires, have escalated due to Milei’s pension reforms, which retirees say fail to keep up with inflation. In response, the government imposed tighter restrictions on football stadium access for those involved in the unrest.
